Want REAL Teambuilding? Build Your Growth Mindset Together!

August 20, 2021 Jamie Notter

There are two basic versions of “teambuilding”: the light version, and the serious version. Both are valid, though the light version (social events, escape rooms, scavenger hunts, etc.) tends to have a smaller impact on team performance, compared to the serious version that focuses more explicitly on issues that are getting in the way of the team’s performance.

Right now, though, the serious version of teambuilding seems almost too hard to tackle, because we all have spent the last year doing EVERYTHING differently. How can we possibly pull out the specific issues that are getting in the way of team performance when everyone’s world has been turned upside down?

So I have a suggestion: go deeper and work on your core mindset as a team. The upside down we’re in right now is not going to be magically reset any time soon. Your goal should not be merely to “make it through” these tough times. Your goal should be to develop the resilience, creativity, and agility necessary to THRIVE, no matter what’s going on around you. To do that, your whole team needs to adopt a growth mindset.

To help you jumpstart this effort, we are now offering our Growth Mindset Bootcamp in a team version. The content in this 3-unit course goes deep, starting with helping each team member understand how to push their comfort zone and identify ways that they may be holding themselves back from their true potential. Then the middle section focuses at the team level, where you’ll be able to dig into issues of trust and accountability, and it includes a particularly useful exercise for identifying areas where the team can let go of control in order to increase speed. The final section digs into culture, with access to our research on culture patterns plus some interviews with external experts addressing digital transformation and “managing up.”

This online bootcamp is available, on demand, to anyone. But for intact teams, we can now create a private instance of the online course where you and your colleagues can work through the content together.  Additionally you’ll get three 1-hour live coaching calls over zoom to help process and integrate your learning.

Now is the time to invest in your team. Now is the time to align your team around this growth mindset and build your resilience and agility. You can read more about the course here, or feel free to reach out and set up a call to discuss it in more detail.
