Last week I spoke at the AI Innovation Hub in Chicago, put on by our parent company, Blue Cypress. Next week (May 14th), I’ll be speaking at a similar event in DC. So DC folks: don’t miss this event! Here’s why:

AI has incredible potential. Most people get this at a basic level. Yet I don’t hear a lot of urgency around it. They’re acting like it’s something that they can wait and explore later. To use an analogy, they are treating it like it was social media 15 to 20 years ago. “Yeah, it could be significant, but we’re going to wait and see before we dive too deeply into it.”

Here’s the problem: as fast as social media grew 20 years ago, it’s nothing compared to the rate of change with AI. Each time I go into my ChatGPT instance and use it, I notice immediately how much better it is. Twitter didn’t evolve that fast. I remember getting the “fail whale” for years before Twitter expanded capacity enough to eliminate them.

With AI’s speed of evolution, you should feel compelled to get involved early. Start experimenting with it NOW. Give it to your staff. Build internal capacity to use it effectively.

That’s where my session on “Preparing Your Culture for the AI Revolution” comes in (because most cultures are woefully unprepared from my perspective, and I have data to prove it). But there will be other sessions at this event on the basics of generative AI (did you know that it is essentially a “next word predictor?”), and what you need to do to unify your data so AI can actually work for you. You can find more on the agenda (and register) here.

One of the things I love about being a part of the Blue Cypress family of companies is how incredibly smart the leaders of the other companies are. At this event you get many of them in one place at the same time. Don’t miss it.
